Study Collection

MoMu believes that direct contact with materials and techniques can be very educational. That is why MoMu has created a study collection, a separate collection intended to teach visitors about fashion by allowing them to study objects up close.

The study collection can be used for scientific research, as teaching material or as inspiration. You will be able consult the study collection after appointment only or you can already have a look on our online database, do note that this is still in a testing phase.

Enhancing diversity in library heritage

As a museum, MoMu also preserves library heritage holdings and aims to make them accessible to everyone. It concerns printed and written heritage from the past, particularly publications intended for distribution and reading. Many of these publications reflect a dominant social, political, and economic perspective, meaning that many voices are missing, unacknowledged, or remain underrepresented. As a result, they often do not provide an accurate representation of the diversity within societies, both past and present. As a heritage institution we therefore strive towards greater polyphony in both our collections and our broader heritage activities.

MoMu has endorsed a position paper, facilitated by FARO and Bibliothecair Erfgoed.
