Forty years after six designers from Antwerp made their international breakthrough as ‘The Antwerp Six’, German filmmaker Reiner Holzemer delves into their shared history.
Ann Demeulemeester, Dries Van Noten, Walter Van Beirendonck, Dirk Van Saene, Marina Yee and Dirk Bikkembergs look back on their early years and the international breakthrough that firmly established Antwerp on the global fashion map.
The Six brings together their personal stories and explores what connected them, while highlighting the very different paths they followed and their distinct design practices.
The documentary ties in with the exhibition The Antwerp Six, on view at MoMu until 17 January 2027.
