On Friday, 20 November, SEW WHAT will have its premiere at hetpaleis.
In this theatre performance, costume designer Sam Beddegenoodts explores the existential tension that can unfold inside a fitting room. Costume takes on an active role as a fellow performer in an absurdist world, inspired by forgotten fashion trends and the distorted aesthetics of TikTok dystopias.
In a context where clothing options are endless and trends follow one another at ever-increasing speed, the performance raises the question: how do you still make choices in an overstimulated fashion landscape, and what does that choice say about who you are?
Sam Beddegenoodts

Sam Beddegenoodts is an interdisciplinary costume designer exploring the space between reality and absurdity. She graduated in 2024 from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp. Her work is bold, playful, and sculptural, turning everyday reality into exaggerated, surreal forms. She has worked with, among others, Man OverBoord, Camping Sunset, hetpaleis, and Toneelhuis.
SEW WHAT is a production by MoMu, in co-production with PerPodium and in collaboration with hetpaleis. With thanks to Stormkop and Man OverBoord.
