"Margiela, the Hermès years" focuses on 20th and 21st century fashion, and features interviews and essays by Margiela's close collaborators, including Rebecca Arnold, Kaat Debo, Vincent Wierink and Sarah Mower. Noted fashion critic Suzy Menkes wrote the introduction.

The book also presents never before published archive material from Maison Martin Margiela, as well as numerous images from Le Monde d'Hermès, and photographs telling the story of Margiela's ultimate wardrobe for Hermès.

In the newest edition of the book, a foreword by Olivier Gabet and an essay by Ina Delcourt were added, as well as the epynomous exhibition in Antwerp in 2017.
