MoMu Friend or MoMu Circle? We warmly invite you to an exclusive preview of GIRLS. On Boredom, Rebellion and Being In-Between on Tuesday, 23 September 2025, prior to the official opening of the exhibition.
Elisa De Wyngaert, curator of the exhibition, will give an introduction, after which you will explore the exhibition with a MoMu guide (in Dutch). Let yourself be carried away by the many special stories and discover the exhibition in a unique way.
Afterwards, you can enjoy a drink at MoMu Café.
GIRLS explores the beauty and complexity of girlhood. How has girlhood been represented? How is it remembered? And how does the idea of ‘the girl’ continue to shape visual culture and fashion? Through the eyes of the artists, designers, photographers and filmmakers in this exhibition, girlhood is more than just a theme, but a way of seeing – of remembering and imagining. With work by: Sofia Coppola, Louise Bourgeois, Edgar Degas, Robert Gober, Roni Horn, Chopova Lowena, Simone Rocha, Jenny Fax, Alice Neel, Fumiko Imano, Meret Oppenheim and many others.
