The exhibition ‘E/MOTION. Fashion in Transition’ goes deeper into the way in which fashion is an expression of emotion, fear and desire in society: fashion is both ‘emotion’ and ‘in motion’. MoMu looks back on the events of the past three decades and questions how the fashion industry can reinvent itself, as well as the role that fashion designers can play in this in the future.

Various media are combined – fashion, popular culture, art, journalism, photography and music - and these components all bear equal weight in relating the story. The stories connect fashion with emotion. By asking important questions about the way in which the fashion industry will reinvent itself, the exhibition encourages dialogue about the role that creators, designers and artists can play in the future.
