Workshop "Coiling: from rags to unique decoration"

Coiling is a simple Indian technique to make baskets or bowls for rites of passage. Using coiling, fabric scraps become the ingredients for a unique contemporary object.

Through coiling, strip of fabrics are tied together around a center point with needle and thread. Through tying the materials around the center point you can create either a flat or a three-dimensional object.

During this workshop, you learn the basics of coiling. You go home with a unique basket or small tapestry, and most of all, a lot of inspiration to experiment at home.

No prior experience is necessary.
