White embroidery is a general term for all embroidery that involves embroidering on a white background with white embroidery thread. By using different embroidery stitches such as satin stitch, French knot and stem stitch one creates different textures.
During this workshop you will learn how to correctly stretch the textile on an embroidery hoop, how to attach and detach the embroidery thread in the most invisible way possible, the different embroidery stitches and techniques applied to the particular design.

Kenny Damian is a textile restorer and freelance embroiderer. She has studied various hand embroidery techniques such as aari embroidery, Kutch (India) embroidery, gold and bead embroidery and needlepoint lace. She has learned these techniques and skills directly from embroiderers and through classes at home and abroad. She applies the techniques to herself or in combination with others and does so for both contemporary and historical designs.
Because I find it important not only to preserve the objects but also not to lose the knowledge and the different techniques in which they were made, I started to learn different embroidery techniques.
The lunch break is scheduled between 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM. There are various options for lunch in the local vicinity, including the MoMu Café.
