During this workshop, we will learn how to process a soutache cord into an decorative ornament. Decorative stones will be placed on the soutache cord as an additional decoration. We will draw inspiration from a decorative ornament on a gown from the 1920s that will be on display in the exhibition 'Man Ray and Fashion'.
At the end of the day, you will have created an decorative ornament that you can attach to a garment or a bag or even turn into a brooch.

Kenny Damian is a textile restorer and freelance embroiderer. She has studied various hand embroidery techniques such as aari embroidery, Kutch (India) embroidery, gold and bead embroidery and needlepoint lace. She has learned these techniques and skills directly from embroiderers and through classes at home and abroad. She applies the techniques to herself or in combination with others and does so for both contemporary and historical designs.
Because I find it important not only to preserve the objects but also not to lose the knowledge and the different techniques in which they were made, I started to learn different embroidery techniques.
The lunch break is scheduled between 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM. There are various options for lunch in the local vicinity, including the MoMu Café.
