At the age of 23, Carine Gilson graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, where she had studied fashion. For the last 30 years she has been creating couture lingerie that combines silk and lace.

Her exceptional pieces, snapped by the greatest photographers and hugely popular with celebrities such as Nicole Kidman, Gwyneth Paltrow, Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell and Kirsten Dunst, combine skill and modernity. Her signature is the lace inlay, an artistic task in itself. Her feel for the cut, her passion for bold colours and her love of delicateness create a harmonious blend.

"Beautiful Lace & Carine Gilson" transports us to a fantasy world of sensuality, preciosity and virtuosity. It will feature around 50 creations by the Maison Carine Gilson, tracing her career and entering into a dialogue with key pieces from the Museum's lace collection.

The skills are raised to their peak in her Brussels studio. Each piece is unique, made by hand by specialists with delicate fingers, who are very well qualified and have exceptional skill. Carine Gilson aims to create beauty with care and passion.
