Individual

The ModeMuseum offers an extensive range of facilities for a highly diverse public! Young and old alike can come to the museum to visit the exhibitions, but also for workshops, lectures and walks.

Here too we have again made a distinction between children (aged 6 to 12), young people (aged 12 to 16), and adults (over 16), so that you can immediately find the information you are looking for!

Children

Children's guide: 'De Rode Draad' [The Red Thread]

'De Rode Draad' is a visitor's guide aimed at children and their parents or grandparents. It contains explanations at two levels, both for children and for parents. See-and-do tasks steer young visitors through the exhibition in a playful way. Highly recommended for families with young children!

  • Free for children under 12
  • Free guide available from the museum foyer

Birthday parties at MoMu

The birthday party gets under way in the ModeMuseum's youth workshop where we give the birthday boy or girl a lavish reception. We take a look at the exhibition and then make a suitable work of art for the birthday boy or girl. The party ends with a tasty snack and a drink!

  • Duration: Saturday afternoons, 2pm to 4.30pm
  • Number of children: 15 maximum
  • Age: 8 to 12
  • Price: 150 euros

Holiday workshops

During the school holidays, you can take part in numerous workshops at the ModeMuseum!

The challenge

A track-suit has nothing to do with trendy clothes, wild prints and funny designs, or does it? Has fashion designer Bernhard Willhelm discovered a way to mix cool and sporty? Come and find out and design your own cool, chic, cheerful or sporty outfit. Then we'll get to work!

  • Duration: 2 days, 10am to 4.30pm
  • Dates: autumn and/or Christmas holidays
  • Age: 10 to 12
  • Price per person: 30 euros

Wild animals on pretty dresses

In the exhibition we go in search of wild animals and lurid colours on the beautiful dresses designed by Bernhard Willhelm. Then it's off to the workshop to get down to work. We put together a stylish wardrobe for our mannequin.

  • Duration: 1 day, 10am to 4pm
  • Dates: autumn and/or Christmas holidays
  • Age: 7 to 9
  • Price per person: 15 euros

In search of folklore

What is folklore? We go looking for it on the street and in the exhibition. How does Bernhard Willhelm incorporate folklore into his designs? We pay a lot of attention to the cut. Your personal artistic interpretation is important. Then we get to work in the workshop.

  • Duration: 2 days, 10am to 4.30pm
  • Dates: 28 and 29 August 2007, autumn and/or Christmas holidays
  • Age: 10 to 12
  • Price per person: 30 euros

Bookings via Prospekta (Grote Markt 13, 2000 Antwerp) tel.: 03 203 95 85

Holiday workshops

During the school holidays, you can fill your days creatively at the ModeMuseum! You can choose from an extensive range of holiday workshops where you can give free rein to your imagination and artistic talents!

Costume placed in a new setting

We seek inspiration from the exhibition, captivated by the brightly-coloured and surprising combinations showcased in a highly imaginative way. Sometimes confrontational, sometimes challenging, but always very inspiring and innovative! We put together our own favourite outfit and photograph the ensemble. In so doing, we literally place the forms in a new setting, following the example of Bernhard Willhelm.

  • Duration: 3 days, 10am to 4.30pm
  • Dates: autumn and/or Christmas holidays
  • Age: 12 to 14
  • Price per person: 15 euro

From t-shirt to objet d'art

First of all we seek inspiration from the exhibition where we mainly focus on the brightly-coloured prints. We design our own patterns which we print on a T-shirt. Then we work on the form and look for a new, refreshing cut until we are satisfied with the result!

  • Duration: 2 days, 10am to 4.30pm
  • Dates: autumn and/or Christmas holidays
  • Age: 12 to 14
  • Price per person: 30 euro

Breathe new life into an old item of clothing!

Inspired by the work of fashion designer Bernhard Willhelm, we design a refreshing pattern that we apply on an old item of clothing. For this we use felt, embroidery thread, buttons, beads, etc. So we turn a tired garment into a striking, ultra-fabulous dress, skirt or shirt!

  • Duration: 1 day, 10am to 4.30pm
  • Dates: autumn and/or Christmas holidays
  • Age: 12 to 14
  • Price per person: 15 euro

Bookings via Prospekta (Grote Markt 13, 2000 Antwerp) tel. 03 203 95 85
